Connections, the newest puzzle game by The New York Times, challenges players to categorize a set of 16 words into four undisclosed groups. The task involves deciphering the relationships between the words. The puzzle resets every night at midnight, offering a fresh challenge each day, with varying levels of difficulty. Similar to Wordle, you can track your winning streak and compare your scores with friends.
Some days pose more formidable challenges than others. If you find today’s Connections puzzle a bit tricky, check out our tips and hints below. And if you’re still stumped, don’t worry—we’ll reveal the answers at the end.
How to Play Connections:
In Connections, you’ll encounter a grid with 16 words. Your goal is to group these words into four sets of four by identifying the connections between them. These connections could relate to various concepts such as titles of video game franchises, book series sequels, shades of red, or names of chain restaurants, among others.
While some words may seem suitable for multiple themes, there is only one correct answer. You have the option to shuffle and rearrange the grid to better visualize potential connections.
Each group is color-coded, with the yellow group being the easiest to decipher, followed by green, blue, and purple.
Select four words and submit your choice. If you’re correct, those four words will be removed from the grid, and the corresponding theme will be revealed. An incorrect guess counts as a mistake, and you have a limit of four mistakes before the game ends.
